Forget the alarm clock. Bryan Cranston is giving America a wake-up call about wireless plans — and just in case his message isn’t loud enough, he brought a rooster. T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) today unveiled its latest national advertising campaign starring the Emmy®-winning, Tony®-winning and Oscar®-nominated actor to introduce T-Mix, a new way to wireless that lets customers pick what they want, change what they want and skip what they don’t.
The new campaign brings that wake-up call to life, opening with Cranston throwing open the curtains on a nation that’s been asleep on its phone plans. From bedrooms and hotel lobbies to a therapist’s office, an airplane cabin and an office full of groggy professionals (rooster in tow), he rouses people who have been sleepwalking through their wireless plans, including internet icon Lele Pons.
His message is simple: it’s time for a phone plan that works around your life, not the other way around. T-Mix is built to do just that, letting customers pick the benefits they want, swap them as their needs change and get it all included in their plan on America’s Best Network.
“Bryan Cranston is one of those rare actors who can be commanding and hilarious in the same breath — and when he speaks, people pay attention. That made him the perfect person to deliver America’s wake-up call,” said Lucy McLellan, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Communications Officer at T-Mobile. “T-Mix represents a fundamental shift in wireless — moving from plans defined by the carrier to plans shaped by the customer. We’re challenging one of the industry’s most established conventions, so we wanted a campaign that’s anything but conventional. Bryan brings exactly the kind of humor, energy and impact this moment deserves.”

“What? You mean I can change my phone plan?” said Bryan Cranston. “I really didn’t realize I could do that. So when I was approached to be the one to spread the word on this T-Mobile campaign, I thought, it seems like I’m the perfect person to take on the responsibility for waking up an entire country! Because we all get stuck in our routines, even with something as simple as our phone plans… which I too just mindlessly paid every month. No more. T-Mix is a reminder that sometimes a change in plans is exactly what you need to wake up.”
Developed with Highdive, T-Mobile’s newly appointed lead creative advertising agency, and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nick Ball, the ad features cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema, who won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Oppenheimer. Together, they bring Cranston’s larger-than-life performance to the screen as he commits fully to every wake-up call — whether he’s whispering to a sleeping stranger or holding a rooster like it’s his co-star.
“We wanted to make a campaign that launches T-Mobile’s new T-Mix plan in a big way, that gives the country a wake-up call,” said Steven Fogel, Executive Creative Director at Highdive. “Bryan Cranston was the perfect person to bring that to life, and Nick Ball and Hoyte van Hoytema helped us make every moment feel bigger, bolder and more cinematic. It’s exactly the kind of work we love making: entertaining, ambitious, and something people actually want to pay attention to.”
The 60-second spot debuts today during Thursday Night Football and will roll out across national broadcast, streaming, cinema, digital, social media platforms, radio and out-of-home, so the wake-up call reaches customers wherever they are.
The campaign will also extend across Spanish-language media, featuring Venezuelan-American YouTube star Lele Pons as the wake-up call instigator with custom content created to connect with and engage U.S. Hispanic audiences.
Meet T-Mix: A Change in Plans. In the Best Possible Way.
